It is important to change your passwords periodically on all the things you log into and the MacBook is no different. Setting a date that you change all your passwords is good practice and I will walk you through How to Change your MacBook Password.
- In the top left-hand corner click the Apple Menu ()
- From the Apple menu select System Preferences
- On the system preferences select Users & Groups
- In users & groups select Change Password
- Enter your current Mac password in the Old Password box
- Enter your new Mac password in the New Password box
- Again enter your new Mac password in the Verify box
- Now add a password hint in the Password Hint box
- Click Change Password
