How to Change Menu Bar Size on Mac

  1. In the top left-hand corner click the Apple Menu ()
  2. From the Apple menu select System Settings
  3. On the System Settings select Accessibility
  4. From Accessibility select Display
  5. On Display select Large from the Menu bar size
  6. For changes to take effect select Log Out Now
  7. Log back into the Mac

First, before we jump into the step-by-step if you don’t see the option the enlarge your menu bar. Then you are likely on an older macOS the ability to make the menu bigger come with macOS Monterey.

So first you may need to update your macOS before moving on.

Step 1. In the top left-hand corner click the Apple Menu ()

Step 2. From the Apple menu select System Settings

Step 3. On the System Settings select Accessibility

System Settings > Accessibility
System Settings > Accessibility

Step 4. From Accessibility select Display

Step 5. On Display select Large from the Menu bar size

System Settings > Accessibility > Display
System Settings > Accessibility > Display

Step 6. For changes to take effect select Log Out Now

Step 7. Log back into the Mac

Menu bar size > Log Out
Menu bar size > Log Out

Struggling to Read Text on Mac

The difference this makes is small and you may actually find it hard to see any difference. I can assure you there is a difference granted it’s small.
