How to Change the Color of Stickies on Mac

The stickies app is a very useful app that comes prebuilt in all Macs. The stickies sit on the desktop and a super healful to remind you of tasks to do. A little unknown thing about stickies is that they are customizable. First, we will look at How to Change the Color of Stickies on Mac then move on to other customizable features.

  1. Open Spotlight search
  2. Search Stickies and open
  3. From the menu bar select Color
  4. Now you can choose a variety of different Colors

How to Change the Color of Stickies on Mac

Many do not know that you can completely customize the look and feel of the stickies. Making changes to make them more visible on the desktop. Not all home screens allow the standard yellow Stickies to stand out so being able to change the color and style is needed.

Also, if you have multiple stickies then they can all start to get lost within a sea of yellow. So changing the color can really help keep the notes separated visually.

Let’s just into how to change the color of Stickies:

Step 1. Open Spotlight search

Step 3. From the menu bar select Color

Step 4. Now you can choose a variety of different Colors

You can choose between six different color stickies Yellow, Blue, Green, Pink, Purple, and Grey. As soon as you click on a new color the sticky will instantly change color.

So once you have chosen a different color that best suits your home screen you can move on to more changes.

From the menu bar, you should select Window to make these changes.

  • Float on Top – allows the stickies to remain on top of all windows. Allowing any important notes not to be lost.
  • Translucent – allows you to make the stickies translucent perfect if you don’t like bright colors.
  • Use as Default – allows you to set the stickie you have made as default. So whenever you make a new stickie these changes will be replicated.
