  1. Open the Notification Center by clicking the date and time
  2. Right-click the weather widget
  3. Select “Edit Weather”
  4. Click the Location Box
  5. Search for your new location and select it
  6. Press “Done” to complete the location change

Changing the location of the weather widget is not too tricky but can be a real pain when you don’t know where to look. I will show you how to change it. As well as here and some other cool features you can change to get the weather widget how you want it.

Step 1. Open the Notification Center by clicking the date and time

How to Automatically Change Weather Widget Location on Mac

If you are a bit of a traveler and you love to holiday with your Mac. Then you will want the location of the weather to auto-change.

To do this you are going to want to turn on location services you do this by following these steps:

How to Turn on Location Services

Apple Menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Location Services > Select Weather

Now you have location services turned on. You will want to select “My Location” on the weather widget from the location box.

Now, whenever you travel or change your location. The Mac will auto-detect your location and change the weather widget to reflect.

How to Resize Weather Widget on Mac

The Mac seems to always make new widgets large but the weather widget is just fine on the medium setting. You get just as much information but all neatly compact. Yet the small widget is too little for me with too little information.

To change the size of the weather widget you need to do the following:

Step 1. Open the Notification Center by clicking the date and time

Step 2. Right-click the weather widget

Step 3. Select between Small, Medium, and Large

How to Change Weather Widget to Celsius on Mac

If you would prefer the weather on the Mac to display Celsius or Fahrenheit then there is an option to change it. Yet, unlike the changes above this is not done on the widget.

You will need to head to the setting to change this but the task is not difficult to achieve the desired results.

Step 1. In the top left-hand corner click the Apple Menu ()

Step 2. From the Apple menu select System Preferences

Step 3. On the system preferences open Language & Region

Step 4. Choose between Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F) from the temperature dropdown

These changes will affect the display of temperature in the weather widget, Siri Weather, and any third-party apps.
