Find Out Which Mac Model You Currently Own
Because Apple doesn’t update the name of the Mac some unscrupulous sellers can try to pass off an old Mac as a newer one.

Check the Age of a Non-working Mac
If you are buying a Mac that is non-working in the hope of getting it working then a crucial part will be knowing the age of the Mac.
All Macs have small print on the underside of the Mac and within this small print, there will be a serial number.
Note down the serial number and head over to the Apple Check Coverage page where you will be able to enter the serial number to reveal the age of the Mac.

How do I find out what year my Mac was made?
To find out the Mac model year Apple Menu () > About This Mac > Overview Tab and your Mac model year will be displayed in brackets after the Mac name.
