- In the top left-hand corner click the Apple Menu ()
- From the Apple menu select System Preferences
- On the system preferences select Dock & Menu Bar
- Now in the dock & menu bar select Battery from the sidebar

Why Won’t My Mac Let Me Show Battery Status?
You need to go to Apple Menu () > System Preferences > Dock & Menu Bar > Battery and tick the box “Show in Menu Bar” this will then let you display the battery status.
