If you want to take a selfie on the Macbook then it is relatively easy to achieve. All modern Macs coming with webcams have made this task much easier than it once was. Also, there is no need to download any extra software to achieve a selfie on the Mac.
- Open Launchpad from the Mac Dock
- Now open Photo Booth from Launchpad
- From the bottom left corner select the Take a still picture icon
- Click the Red Photo Button to take the selfie
- Press the selfie in the bottom right-hand corner to highlight
- With the selfie highlighted select File > Export to save the selfie

How to Take a Selfie Photo on Macbook
There are many apps that you can download to take selfies however this is not needed with the inbuilt photo booth app.
The great thing about the photo booth app is that you can also make videos. So it’s not all about photos on this app and well worth keeping on the Mac.
So let’s get into how to take a photo on a MacBook:
Step 1. Open Launchpad from the Mac Dock
Step 2. Now open Photo Booth from Launchpad
Step 3. From the bottom left corner select the Take a still picture icon
Step 4. Click the Red Photo Button to take the selfie
Step 5. Press the selfie in the bottom right-hand corner to highlight
Step 6. With the selfie highlighted select File > Export to save the selfie
While Photo Booth may seem like a basic app there is much more to it including adding filters and making videos.
